Classic Pear Lime Jello Lush

Love the old classic recipes. This Classic Pear lime Jello Lush is so special and so luscious. Great for any holiday table yet easy enough for any weeknight. Enjoy!

This recipe is a combination of my mom Ruthie’s’ and grandma Anna’s along with my friend Susan.

A few years ago we were invited to a friends house for one of the holiday’s and her sister Susan was there and she brought a delicious lime mold which tasted very similar to the one my grandma and mom used to make.

By taking a little bit of each recipe, this was what came out of those three. Perfection! At least that’s what my family said. So, I’ll take it.

My mom and grandma used pineapple instead of pear. Of course you can swap it out if you want. Both taste so good. Try it one time with pineapple and the next with the pear. You won’t be disappointed either way. Also, both my mom and grandma added sour cream to their mixture.  Susan did not.

The recipe itself is very forgiving. You can add in, take out, any substitute, it all seems to work. Every time I make this it comes out just delicious.

I used to only serve this as a dessert but, my husband told me his grandma made a similar jello recipe and she served it with the main meal. Surprisingly many people at the table did take a piece with the meal.

I guess it’s like having applesauce or cranberry sauce on the side. Kind of sweet yet a little tangy. Just right.

If there is any leftover, we serve it again with dessert. It’s great for a luncheon or party too.

When I was a caterer in Atlanta many years ago before I got married, A jello dessert was on the menu for any daytime luncheon.

Always a big hit a a baby or bridal shower.

It’s so pretty too. Sometimes I’ll add some extra whipped topping for decoration, along with fresh fruit. Whenever you serve this it’s sure to be a big hit.
