Homestyle Slow Cooker Chicken and Potatoes

Homestyle recipes are the best. Try this simple recipe for Homestyle Slow Cooker Chicken and Potatoes. It’s sure to become a family favorite around your home like it is around mine.

This recipe is from my mom Ruthie, she was such a great cook.

The recipe was originally made on the stove top. Then one year my mom went out and bought one of the original Crock Pots at the local department store.

I remember  her telling me it was
“A fortune!”

She started making many of her stove top recipes in her new crock pot and it was such a time saver especially since she worked full time for many years.

Just like the rest of us, she’d get everything ready in the morning before she left for work and then let it cook on low.

I got home from school two hours before her so the house had already begun to smell so delicious. Those sure are nice memories to think about.

Now, one very important thing to tell you about this recipe….

Don’t be fooled by the ketchup in the ingredients. It’s a must for the home style flavor. I tried without one time and it just was not the same.

My mom Ruthie came up with some simple ways to make an ordinary dish come out tasting so good by adding just one ingredient. So, you must add that ketchup for the authentic taste in this dish.

I’m sure you will enjoy this as much as my whole family does. A simple recipe that’s just so delicious.

Love a classic that still comes out the way you remember as a child.
