My daughter Tori and I have been making these pound cake pops for many years now.

We started when she was home from college during the holiday break.

She was having some of her friends over to visit one night and she wanted to serve a special dessert that everyone will really enjoy and Tori wanted to serve a dessert that was fun as well as delicious.

I suggested cake pops. It was Tori’s idea to add different toppings to each of the cake pops. This way everyone could sample all the different toppings.

We  picked colored sprinkles, pistachio nuts, coconut, and mini chocolate chips. We thought that would be a nice variety.

As you can image from just seeing the photos, they were a huge hit. In fact they were completely gone when everyone left. I’m so glad we saved a few for my husband and my son Josh.

Since then, Tori made them at college for her roommates and I’ve made them many times for company and when we go to visit family and friends.

It’s nice to have a good variety of toppings for a larger crowd. This way there’s something for everyone.

My newest topping has been a drizzle of caramel with sea salt. That was a big hit with my hubby.

The skies the limit. Pick any toppings you know would be popular with your family and friends.

Don’t forget to check out the video Tori and I made back in 2016. We had so much fun making these cake pops and then making a video showing them off.

Hey! There’s a new video of these easy cake pops that was just made a few days ago. I’m so excited for you all to see both videos!

How Do You Make These Easy Cake Pops?

Here are the fun directions to make the easy cake pops…

  1. Line a cookie sheet with wax or parchment paper, set aside for just a few minutes.
  2. Trim the top, bottom and sides of the pound cake just enough to remove the golden brown pieces. (Use the pieces for a quick dessert, layer with ice cream and chocolate sauce, yum!) Slice cake into approximately 1 inch cubes.
  3. Lay cubes in a single layer on cookie sheet. Spear each cube with a lollypop stick. Freeze for 2 – 3 hours.
  4. Before you melt the chocolate, be sure to have each topping in a single bowl or dish ready to dip.
  5. Place 3/4 bag of chocolate chips in a large glass bowl or microwave safe measuring cup. Microwave on high for 1 minute or until chocolate starts to melt. Stir with rubber spatula. If necessary, microwave at additional 10-15 second intervals, stirring just until chocolate is melted. Then add in the remaining chocolate chips and stir until all is melted.
  6. Working quickly, dip each pound cake pop into the chocolate, roll in toppings and use a plastic spoon to help.  Place back onto cookie sheet. Chill until firm, about 1 hour. When ready to eat, you may want them to sit out for just a few minutes to soften up. Store in fridge up to 4 days. Again, best if pops sit on counter for 10 minutes just to soften and come to room temperature.

Enjoy the deliciousness!
