There are a lot of people who would give a lot to increase their metabolism. Having a high level of metabolism enables one to maintain burn fat and lose weight fast with the least amount of activity. Metabolism is the rate by which the body produces and consumes energy and calories to support life.
There are several factors that affect the metabolism of a person, such as the amount of muscle tissue, the frequency of the meals one consumes, genetics, stress levels, personal diet and activity levels. Metabolism slows done due to the following: loss of muscle because of not enough physical activity, the tendency of the body to cannibalize its own tissue because there is not enough food energy to sustain it, and the decrease of physical activity that comes naturally with old age.

Waffles…syrup….blueberries….yum. Strangely, I have always preferred frozen waffles over the ones made fresh from the waffle iron. You can imagine my excitement when I found Trader Joe’s waffles that are…wait for it…gluten free, dairy free and refined sugar free. Add blueberries and a little maple syrup for a breakfast fit for a gluten free Queen. Or King.

This is a wonderful recipe that is fast and easy to put together any day of the week. Your dinner guests will be impressed with this treat. I don’t think there is anything better than a delicious steak grilled to perfection. The only problem is who wants to stand out in this cold over a grill to make it. Perhaps you live in an apartment where you can’t grill. All you will need is a cast iron skillet. Some of my earliest memories throughout the ’60s and ’70s are of sitting around the dinner table with my mom, dad, and sister. Dinner was at 5 o’clock prompt. Mom cooked every night. It was just something we did. Didn’t everyone? When I began working in New York City and not getting off the train until 7:15 p.m., I have a distinct recollections of walking in the door at home and hearing the ding from the microwave…dinner heated for me. Did my mom actually time my steps from the car to the door? The funny thing is, it was important to me to carry on that tradition when I got married.
