Delish Low Fat, High Protein Yogurt Parfait

 

This is a very tasty and healthy yogurt parfait. I used strawberries and bananas but you can use any fruit that you like. I also toasted the oatmeal in the oven to make it crunchier which adds a nice nutty flavor. Enjoy this anytime of day. Makes for a great breakfast to get you up and on the go!

Delish Low Fat, High Protein Yogurt Parfait

Makes one serving

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz container of plain non fat Greek yogurt (no more than 90-100 calories per container)
  • 1/2 small banana, sliced
  • 2-3 strawberries, sliced
  • 1/8 cup dry oatmeal, toasted (see directions)
  • 1 tbsp wheat germ
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp cinnamon

 

Directions:

  1. In a medium to large glass or parfait dish layer in the yogurt first. Sprinkle with some cinnamon, After, layer the strawberries, more yogurt, the rest of the cinnamon, oatmeal, yogurt, and bananas. Finish your parfait with the yogurt and top with the wheat germ and more fruit. ENJOY this healthy, delish treat!

To toast the oatmeal:

  1. Have your oven set at 275 degrees and lay the oatmeal on a cookie sheet. Bake for about 10-15 minutes. Check after 10 minutes, as it can burn very quickly. Turn the pan around after 5 minutes. You can also add the wheat germ for the last 3 minutes.
