Bunny & Chick Easter Peeps Pretzel Rods

Have fun making these adorable Bunny and Easter Peeps Pretzel Rods. Makes a great Easter Day craft project. Enjoy and Happy Easter!

Here’s are two recipes my son Josh and I had fun making together for many years. He’s 17 now and doesn’t really make these fun recipes with me too often, but, he loves to cook and always happy to whip up one of his special dinners.

Years ago, it was my daughter who shared this fun food craft with me that she learned in Girl Scouts. She’s now married and an attorney. Tori, still loves to bake and entertain with her hubby. She’s always whipping up something really spectacular and sends me the pictures.

We had so much fun making meals together just like my son and I did. I’m glad they still enjoying cooking and making delicious desserts/

We used to wrap each one separately and give them as a special little treat to friends and family.

Use any kind of Peep you like. Both the chicks and bunnies both worked well. It’s a messy food craft but, hey, it’s so much fun!

Peeps come in all different colors.

Same goes for the sprinkles. Use what you have in the house or find your favorites in stores and online.
These are the best of sweet and salty.

How do you make these adorable bunny & Chick Easter Peeps Pretzel Rods…

The directions are simple and fun.

  1. Have a rimmed cookie sheet/baking pan lined with parchment or wax paper ready along with sprinkles and Peeps. Set aside while melting chocolate or get the frosting opened and ready to go.
  2. If using Almond Bark, chop up into medium to small chunks. If using Candy Melts, you won’t need to chop up. Leave out 2 pieces of chocolate. Set aside. Place in microwave safe bowl. Heat for 30 second increments. After each time, stir well with a rubber spatula. Try not to over heat the chocolate. When almost all chocolate is melted, keep stirring and add in the last two pieces. Stir to melt and shiny.
  3. Using a teaspoon, coat a pretzel rod half way up, dip or sprinkle toppings all over the coated part.
  4. Put more melted chocolate on the top of the rod and the bottom of a Peep. Press the bottom of the Peep into the top of the rod. Lay flat onto the lined cookie sheet. If using the frosting, just smoosh the frosting on the upper part of the pretzel rod. Then, do the same with the frosting that you did with the melted chocolate. Dip or sprinkle the toppings all over the coated part. Then, put a small dollop of frosting on the top of each pretzel rod and on the bottom of the peep. Press gently and lay on the lined cookie sheet.
  5. Do this until you have finished the amount you are making. That’s it! Look how cute and how much fun that was! Enjoy the yumminess!
