Chocolate Drizzled Strawberries And Cream

These beautiful and delicious chocolate drizzled strawberries and cream are made with only 5 basic ingredients and is the easiest most simple recipe to throw together in no time at all.

This recipe was created by my beautiful daughter Tori. We love being in the kitchen together cooking and making desserts and, especially baking.

Since she’s been living out of the house for a few years now, we don’t get to do too much cooking and baking together lately. But, what we can send each other texts with photos of what we made and the recipes.

A while back when Tori started college I started a whole section called “What a College Girl Eats” Click on the link and you will see some of her earlier recipes she would make for herself and her four roommates. There may even be a few when she was in Law School. I’m so proud to say my daughter is now a practicing Attorney.

She still continues to cook and bake as she loved to do when she was younger but now, with a more sophisticated style. When she comes home to visit, she insists on making us dinner and dessert. Usually her boyfriend joins her in the kitchen and the two of them whip up a a fabulous meal that we can all enjoy together.

Now, getting to this recipe, which is very simple and one Tori first made the whole family and her friends over five years ago. Even the photo is from the first time she made this yummy recipe. Tori snapped it on her little camera and gave the photo to me when she developed the film.

Since it is such a simple and easy recipe with no cooking involved and doesn’t involve any raw eggs, it’s great for the kiddos to join in on the fun. Let’s get messy in the kitchen!

For the recipe, Tori starts off with fresh strawberries and a simple cream cheese filling. It ends up as this delicious, light dessert that is just perfect especially after a big meal. The completed dessert comes out looking beautiful and elegant.

I have served this many times when have had guests over for dinner or just dessert and coffee. Great for a dessert table and also for potluck dinners. This will be the first dessert to be eaten up after these beauties are put out.

When strawberries are in season, I buy a bunch and make this often, my husband and son loves these stuffed strawberries and I love them too and the recipe is so easy I make these during the week for dessert or while we are all watching a show together.

Just a note to anyone looking for a lighter dessert that will not break the calorie bank. This one is for you. Check out how low in calories and fat each one of these strawberry gems are. A great WW dessert too. Nutritional content and WW Points are listed above with servings.

What are the five ingredients to make these delicious looking cream filled strawberries!

Ingredients:

  • 8 medium to large strawberries — washed, gently pat dry with paper towels
  • 6 tbsp whipped cream cheese
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar, or more to taste if needed
  • 3/4 tsp vanilla extract, optional

Chocolate drizzle:

  • 3 tbsp semisweet chocolate chips

How are these cream filled strawberries prepared?

Directions:

  1. After your strawberries are washed and dried, hull them and cut a small slice off the end to make them look neat. If you don’t have a tool that can take the small core out you can use a small paring knife to make a small hole and cut off the thin slice. Set the strawberries aside for just a bit.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the whipped cream cheese with a fork. Add in the powdered sugar, you can switch over to a small whisk if needed or a rubber spatula. Add in the vanilla extract and mix again until creamy.
  3.  Using a Ziploc bag, fill with cream, push cream all the way down to one side. Snip off the tip of bag. If you have a pastry tip, you can put that into a Ziploc or pastry bag and push all the way to one side of either bag and make an opening.
  4. Fill each strawberry with the cream. You will have more than enough to fill each strawberry so go ahead and overfill.
  5. Put the strawberries away in the fridge while you melt the chocolate.
  6. In a microwave safe dish, melt the chocolate for about 20 seconds. Take out and mix. Heat in the microwave once more for 20 seconds. If you need to melt more, then repeat for about 10-15 seconds and mix until smooth and shiny.
  7. Take a small zip lock sandwich size bag and fill with the chocolate. Tilt the bag while doing this so that the chocolate is all the way to one side on the bottom. Snip off a small corner of the bag and drizzle over the strawberries until all of them have a nice design. Place back in fridge until set (this should only take a few minutes). Or, you can dip a fork or spoon, and drizzle over each strawberry. One is just a little fancier but both ways look nice.

Enjoy the strawberry deliciousness!
