Step 1: Add the ingredients to the slow cooker

Place the chuck roast pieces into a 7 quart slow cooker (That’s the one I used, I love it!)  Sprinkle the onion soup mix and brown gravy mix over the roast. Pour the red wine vinegar over the top.

Step 2: Cook the beef

Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 4 hours. And, then shred the beef with two forks.

Step 3: Assemble the plates

On a plate, place the toast. Add a layer of mashed potatoes on the toast and top with the beef and au jus.

Storage

Store leftover beef in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. You can also store leftover mashed potatoes and garlic bread in the fridge separate from the meat.

Freezing – The beef can also be frozen in an airtight container for up to 3 months. However, it is not recommended to freeze the mashed potatoes.

Reheating – To reheat the beef, place it in a skillet over medium heat and cook until warmed through. Or in the microwave for 1-2 minutes.
