Grilled Pineapple Waffle Sundae

Grilled Pineapple Waffle Sundae

Here’s a quick and easy throw together dessert that is not only delicious but a healthy one too. Enjoy every bite of this grilled pineapple waffle sundae!

This recipe came about many years ago while I was living in Atlanta.

I had a few friends come over last minute and realized I had nothing to serve them.

Always having been a foodie, I panicked. There were a few frozen waffles and some ice cream in the freezer and voila!

I had a fun looking dessert to serve my friends.

Nowadays, I try to make some healthy alternatives to the high fat, high calorie desserts for the family to enjoy. Don’t get me wrong, we all still indulge in the fudgy, gooey, cookie and cake desserts too. Everything in moderation in my book.

For this recipe I used whole wheat waffles. Also, lower fat, not fat free frozen yogurt or ice cream.

There are so many great varieties in the markets, Target, and Walmart.

So, this version is a lower everything from the one from Atlanta. But, you can use any type of waffle, even gluten free and regular ice cream too.  Oh, and by the way, if you do use a whole grain waffle, the fiber is way up there. Hoping you all love this recipe. We love it and this version is guilt free!
